North Tzoumerka
Perched on steep mountain tops, like eagles' nests, Tzoumerkohoria is an area of exceptional natural beauty. The complex mountainous relief and crystal clear rivers will enchant you. The area belongs to the National Park of Tzoumerki, Peristeri & Haradras Arachthos, which you can learn about at the Pramanta and Chouliarades Information Centers.
Traditional settlements, such as Sirrakos and Kalarrites, as well as many churches and monasteries, bear witness to the prosperity of the past.
Visit the Monasteries of Kipina in Kalarrites and Tsoukas in Elliniko. Here is also the Museum of Contemporary Art of Theodoros Papagiannis, a famous sculptor, which hosts his works with recyclable materials that speak of Epirus and its history. The stone bridge of Plaka on Arachthos, the largest single-arched bridge in the Balkans, which was destroyed in 2015 by the river's rushing waters, has been restored and is standing again in its place! It is a monument of historical importance, and its magnificence is breathtaking!
