Igoumenitsa
Igoumenitsa is a coastal town in northwestern Greece and the capital of the prefecture of Thesprotia. It is the first port in traffic in western Greece and the second in passengers after Piraeus nationwide.
Igoumenitsa has become the western gateway of the country and a development center in addition to Ioannina. In the last decade, its area more than doubled, and the city expanded in all directions.
Two main factors helped its rapid growth. The construction of the new port and Egnatia highway, the road connecting Igoumenitsa with Ioannina mainly, but also with Thessaloniki and Alexandroupoli.
