Ancient Kassopi Culture tour
Overview
Kassopi is a hidden gem with breathtaking views that will transport you back in time. The city was built in the 4th century BC with the well-being of its residents in mind, situated in a naturally fortified location under the steep rocks of Mount Zalogos.
Walking through the 20 parallel streets, also known as the "narrows", you'll see impressive ancient architecture, including a great theater, temples, and a civil market. Kassopi was once a thriving economic and commercial center with its own mint.
Although it was destroyed by the Romans in 167 BC, the city's archaeological site remains well-preserved and is a rare opportunity to experience ancient life. As you stroll through the beautiful clusters of trees, you'll discover impressive artifacts that offer a glimpse into the city's past, all while enjoying the stunning views that make Kassopi a natural "balcony".
